What we want an EFA summer camp to feel like

Media

Plenty of football, time to make friends and a clear rhythm to the day. The thinking behind our future camp programme.

Welcome

The start of a camp matters, especially for a child arriving without a friend. We want future EFA camps to begin with clear introductions, simple activities and time to settle. Children should know the coaches, where their belongings go and how to ask for help.

Football

Our proposed approach combines ball challenges, small-group practices and games. Activities would vary through the day, with space for children to solve problems and make choices. Practical English can be woven into demonstrations and teamwork, with Spanish support when needed. It should feel like playing football, not sitting in a language lesson.

Rhythm

A full day needs more than continuous activity. Appropriate breaks, drinks, shade and a sensible balance between challenge and recovery would shape the timetable. The final format must reflect the venue, conditions and age group. Those decisions will be made before any camp is offered.
