Technology and development

See the game. Understand the player.

Two concept videos show how match review and GPS information could support EFA’s player-centred methodology. These are EFA-designed mock-ups, not recordings of the live Veo or STATSports platforms.

Veo-style match analysis

An action-photo review moves from scanning and recognising pressure to discussing options and agreeing a next step.

Scan: what information is available, where is the defender and can the player see support? Choose: carry, combine or protect; ask the player to explain. Apply: agree one action, practise under pressure and review the same theme next time.

STATSports-style GPS review

A sample session dashboard connects distance, speed and work rate with the player’s experience and the purpose of training. All numbers and movement patterns are invented for this demonstration.

Read the video summary

The fictional 60-minute session shows 4.8 km total distance, 24.6 km/h maximum speed, 12 sprints and 80 m/min work rate. The movement map is synthetic. Consider playing time, role, session design, recovery and player feedback before making decisions. These values are not age-group targets or benchmarks.

Brand names identify the technologies being explored. These demonstrations do not indicate a sponsorship, endorsement or active integration.

The scan challenge

Before a partner passes, look over each shoulder and name something you can see. Receive, turn and repeat at a comfortable pace. Try it in a small game next.

Families

Three questions after training

What did you enjoy? What did you try? What would you like to do again? Give your child time to answer before offering your own view.
